Weak 2 bids

Generally, a weak 2 bid in a major is used to show 6 - 10 points and a 6-card suit.
There are two main conventions used after that ....

Alternatively, the 2N response could be used to ask about a feature.

Esoteric weak 2 bids

There are some modern ways of using the weak 2 bids in the majors. These occur more frequently than the
more classical ones, and are consequently more disruptive to the opponents.

    3C Forced relay  
      Responsder will pass with a weak hand with a club suit  
      3D: Weak, to play  
      3H: asks opener to bid singleton or else 4H  
      3S, 4C, 4D: singleton in suit bid  
      3N: Forcing; asks opener to bid the minor  
         
  3C   Pass or correct to the other minor  
  3D   Inviting to game in the major  
  3H   Preemptive  
  3N   To play  
  4H   To play; could be weak or strong  
  4S   To play
